The least that can be said is that my book The Conquering Islam has sparked a lot of reactions! There have been so many that I cannot mention them all.

a. Presentations in secular media

The newspaper Le Temps (29.01.2019) published an important article about the book.

In the program Forum of Swiss Radio Television (29.01.2019), I was also given the opportunity to present the book.

The major daily 24heures (05.02.2019) published a highlighted interview on the front page of the newspaper.

Even the editorialist of 24heures considered that I was raising good questions.

A little perspective: with a bit of hindsight, I realize how much the titles of the articles and the orientation of the journalists' questions (over which I had no control) greatly influenced the debates that followed.

"Islam has a goal of conquest" (Le Temps). I would have chosen "Political Islam has a goal of conquest." My book differentiates Islam as community spirituality (which does not necessarily have a conquering aim) from political and military Islam.

The journalist from 24heures refocused the discussion of my book on the issues of the canton of Vaud. As if I had written this book intentionally to oppose the recognition of the UVAM (Vaud Union of Muslim Associations) by the State. However, the aim of my book has been European and global from the outset. It is a coincidence that my book was published at the same time as this request for recognition by the State... Moreover, the fact that I contributed to the creation of the R3 (Gathering for Reformed Renewal) and the creation of the HET-PRO (Higher School of Theology) has led some to label me as "evangelical" and thus for some "liberal" or "post-liberal" Reformed (who were among the most vehement against my book and me) as a necessarily suspect person... While I do not deny this evangelical Reformed identity, I primarily see myself as an ecumenical Christian. My previous book on ecumenism and all my engagement over the past thirty years attest to this...
